| The CRANE AI-Cyber Special Interest Group will host a one-hour online panel discussion exploring the rapidly evolving intersection between artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, led by the AI-Cyber SIG Team and the Steering Committee. The session will bring together members of the AI-Cyber SIG, its Steering Committee, early-career researchers and any invited guests/contributors from academia and industry. Panellists will discuss how advances in artificial intelligence are transforming the cyber-threat landscape, while also creating new opportunities for threat detection, resilience, automation and decision support. The discussion will examine key themes including the security of AI systems, the use of AI for cyber defence, adversarial machine learning, trustworthy and explainable AI, agentic AI security, privacy, human factors in AI, human oversight and the challenges of deploying AI within critical and operational environments. The panel will also consider how CRANE can support stronger interdisciplinary collaboration, early-career researcher involvement, industry engagement and community development in this increasingly important research area. It will reflect on the outcomes of the successful AI-Cyber SIG workshop held on 1 May 2026 and discuss future activities, including quarterly hybrid workshops, collaborative publications, research roadmaps, funding proposals and a potential annual AI-Cyber conference. The session will conclude with an open question-and-answer discussion, giving participants an opportunity to share their perspectives, identify emerging research priorities and explore opportunities to become involved in the AI-Cyber SIG.
