Cyber-Physical Systems Security (CPSSec)

The second North East Regional Seminar focussed on Cyber-Physical Systems Security (CPSSec) will be held on Thursday, 9th July 2026. This will be a half-day, hybrid event (10:30-16:30) hosted by Newcastle University School of Computing and the Centre for Cyber Security and Resilience.

Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are engineered systems that tightly integrate computational elements with physical processes, enabling real-time monitoring, control, and optimization of physical operations. Examples include autonomous vehicles, industrial control systems, medical devices, smart buildings, and energy grids. The close coupling of software and physical systems leads to several cross-cutting security challenges that the area of Cyber-Physical Systems security (CPSSec) aims to meet. The event aims to bring together people with security challenges that need addressing and those with potential solutions to look for ways to work together.
