All-Hands 2026 Highlights

A round-up from All-Hands 2026

All-Hands is CRANE main annual event that brings together community members from across academia, industry and policy. This year’s event took place at the University of Bath on 8-9 September 2026.

The two day event was attended by 107 people and included more than 35 presentations. There were engaging keynote speeches, key CRANE updates and information about upcoming phases of the network plus project, interactive sessions from Special Interest Groups and Working Groups, and interesting technical talks spanning a wide range of topic areas;

  • Cyber Resilience: Organisations, Incidents and Capacity
  • AI-Automation and Trustworthy Cyber Defence
  • Cryptography, Privacy and Digital Authenticity
  • Securing Connected Critical Systems
  • Cyber Risk, Deception and Societal Resilience

We also had closed working group meetings for ACE-CSR, and an insightful sponsor showcase plenary session from CyBOK.

CRANE introduction and Learned Society update

Opening remarks and CRANE update from Professor Andrew Martin, CRANE Principle Investigator, followed by an update from Professor Shujun Li, Chair of the Learned Society Formation Working Group (LSFWG).


Keynote Speaker: Fabio Pierazzi

Fabio Pierazzi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at University College London (UCL), where he is a member of the Information Security Research Group. His research vision is to make AI safe and trustworthy from a systems security perspective, with emphasis on hardening learning-based detection systems operating under adversarial pressure in highly non-stationary contexts.


Keynote Speaker: Edith MacArthur

Edith MacArthur is an IT Principal Security Architect at a multi-national healthcare insurance company, with over two decades of experience spanning enterprise security architecture, cloud platforms, and information governance across highly regulated sectors. She works closely with architecture, engineering, and product teams to embed security into the full technology lifecycle, from early design through deployment, with a particular focus on AI enabled and data intensive systems.

2027 event – save the date

Our next annual event will be a joint conference in collaboration with SPRITE+ on 23 – 25 June 2027.
